Field Service Engineer

£32,130 OTE £38,000

Covering Swindon, Andover, Basingstoke, Reading, using the M4

Core Hours 06:00-22:00 Overtime Paid

gap technical are proud to be representing a Market leading material handling business in their search for a Field Service Engineer. The company supports a number of sites throughout UK. This role will cover the southern regions

Performance Objectives

  • To ensure preventative and proactive measures are in place and are maintained to ensure employees are following the Safe Systems of Work issued to them.
  • To carry out service calls on a preventative and reactive basis at customers premises as required.
  • Carry out the Preventive Service Maintenance and repair of customer's site equipment and other manufacturer's products and systems, in full response to customer's requirements.
  • To support residential sites for holidays, sickness and recruitment, which involves working shifts and working weekends, as part of a sites own shift pattern.
  • To communicate with the customer in a clear and concise manner.
  • To support the Project and Installation teams, as required.
  • To notify the controller on job sheets, of activities carried out and faults found during service, and to liaise with them to resolve servicing and maintenance issues.
  • To adhere to all Health and Safety Requirements.
  • To complete job sheets, service schedule tick sheets and any other quality records.
  • When required, provide assistance in the installation and commissioning of any machines
  • To comply with the current Service Engineers QA Responsibilities and Health and Safety Requirements
  • Raise Quality system queries or suggestions with relevant Manager.
  • To assist where possible, the customer in his quality procedures and systems of work
  • To assist where possible, other field operations.
  • A main front-line force in the operation of the company.

Person Specification

  • ONC or HNC in Electrical Engineering
  • Working at Heights certificate or FLT licence (Desirable)
  • C&G, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
  • IT - deep and broad understanding of information technology.
  • comfortable presenting to groups of up to 10 people. Prepares well, speaks clearly and handles questions confidently.
  • Able and willing to work overtime, shifts and weekends, to fulfil business needs.
