gap technical are working in partnership with a Principal Contractor looking to take on an M&E Manager to initially deliver MEP & Utilities across 2 large hotels at Airport City in Manchester. The client is growing at a rapid rate with a large portfolio of projects. Due to their growth plans, they will also require technical input on Tender Bid Strategy as they look to continue their expansion.

Performance Objectives

With a flexible approach to supporting all activities, preferably but not limited to:

  • Input to the M&E Tender Bid Strategy.
  • Be responsible for the technical compliance and commercial governance of M&E and Utility tender bid process as allocated.
  • Manage all tender M&E and Utility queries during the bid stage.
  • Design management of the MEP and Utility Contractor design development activities.
  • To lead, manage and motivate the projects external consultants to establish their full commercial contribution to the organisation.
  • Assist with the management and monitoring of M&E and Utility subcontractor project delivery activities and progress on site.
  • Assist with the management of the commissioning process and compliance of as built and maintenance manuals.
  • Provide input into the monthly project reporting so that it reflects a true/accurate position regarding the service aspects of the project.
  • Input to the review of the M&E and Utility sub-contractor performance to assist with the assessment of their suitability.

Person Specification

  • Strong MEP background (either main contractor or sub-contractor background) with experience in the pre-construction, design and delivery aspects of MEP and Utility services.
  • Experience in various sectors including but not limited to residential, commercial, hotel, education and healthcare.
  • A passion for first class delivery, implementing best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications relevant to the MEP industry such as HNC/HND in M & E
  • A valid CSCS card is a requirement.
  • Input to the MEP and Utility Tender Strategy.
