Senior Production Supervisor

£35k-£40k per annum

Monday to Friday / Days

Wrexham

Our client based on the outskirts of the Wrexham area are currently looking to recruit a Senior Production Supervisor on a permanent basis. The duties of the Senior Production Supervisor are to supervise/manage the factory workshop on a day-to-day basis and ensure all activities meet the customer requirements and that all products are made to the strictest standards set by the company's quality manual and health, safety and environmental standards.

  • To make sure that wherever possible Health and Safety is the guiding principle of the manufacturing process with updates to the directors of the company.
  • Programme the workload for the correct people to carry out the appropriate tasks based on skill and experience of that person to meet production/delivery targets.
  • Continually look for ways of increasing productivity without effecting quality.
  • Communicate expectations to production team members, monitor and appraise performance.
  • Log and action together with Senior Management all health and Safety issues raised or seen to prevent accidents at work.
  • Develops and implements production policies and procedures.
  • Delegates manufacturing tasks so that team can meet production deadlines.
  • Manages the efforts of manufacturing workers on the production floor.
  • Communicates expectations to production workers and appraises their performance.
  • Educates production team members about preferred occupational health and safety practices.
  • Establishes priorities to ensure manufacturing team works most efficiently.
  • Checks manufacturing equipment and control points to ensure efficient workflow is maintained.
  • Addresses production problems as they arise.
  • Organises for the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment.
  • Evaluates new production equipment.
  • Makes recommendations about ways to improve employee efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Counsels and disciplines production employees who fail to perform or violate company policies.
  • Implements recommended manufacturing cost reduction strategies.
  • Undertake other tasks and duties as may be required on a day to day basis to achieve the team tasks such as support people as the need arises.

Person Specification

  • Experience of working within a production management role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstratable leadership experience.
  • Good people management skills.
