A hugely successful and well respected main contractor with a busy project pipeline are actively looking to recruit a Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QESH) to oversee a diverse range of new projects up to the value of £10million. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Health & Safety Manager to join a forward thinking business who specialise in the commercial, education, industrial and residential markets.
We would also consider someone from a Project Manager position, with a good understanding of QESH practices looking to transition into this role.
QESH Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Promote QESH best working practices
- Keep up-to-date on Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Oversee the quality assurance process
- Become a Role Model for Safe Behaviour
- Keep and maintain clear records to comply with company internal and external audit standards
- Liaising with the relevant legal authorities
- Attend relevant HSE meetings as and when required
Ideal skills and qualifications:
- Chartered Member of IOSH or equivalent.
- Possession of professional qualifications in Health and Safety and Quality Assurance is desirable
- Thorough knowledge of ISO: 45001 and ISO: 14001 standards.
- Proven experience in Health and Safety.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills in challenging situations.
- A positive work ethic and real can-do attitude towards all health and safety aspects.
- Experience and Knowledge with Basic I.T Applications and equipment.

Performance Objectives
- To support the manufacturing process by responding effectively to equipment breakdowns, carrying out scheduled maintenance work and being proactive on the correction and modification of reoccurring machine processing faults.
- To respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and ensure maximum focus is given to their nominated production area
- To fault find in an effective and efficient manner whilst utilising the various machines historic / information documentation
- To establish harmonious relations with the operational staff and to work flexibly with them
- To train operational team members to perform minor maintenance tasks and to assist in major repairs
- Ensuring that machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard.
