Senior Site Manager
Suffolk
An excellent opportunity for a distinguished Site Manager to join a housing developer at the cutting-edge of quality construction. The initial project will have you overseeing a small team on an outstanding development of desirable, sustainable homes with character in a distinct village just outside of Ipswich.

The Person
The Senior Site Manager will have a keen eye for detail and be able to anticipate and minimise any disruption to the development and will ideally be located within Suffolk county.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be well presented and distinguishable as the team leader and have the ability to act as our key customer interface.
- Have excellent construction technical skills and current training certification to back this up.
- Possess a strong commitment to the business and its personal approach to contracting.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients and supply-chain alike.
- Be highly self-motivated and have a positive can-do approach to drive the project to a successful completion.
- Be able to work in a team, reporting to a contracts manager and managing junior managers.
- Demonstrate good team management and leadership skills.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day running and organisation of the site.
- Demonstrate ability to anticipate and solve problems as they present themselves on site.
- Maintain ordered and accurate information and records on the project.
- Be prepared to travel within our operating area and lodge away when required.
Specific skills
Time; Be able to control the progression of the works by organising trades in accordance with the programme. Be able to develop short term programmes, considering risk management issues.
Cost: Be able to understand and work within budgets. Control site costs through the careful review of supply-chain variation requests. Organise and control direct labour and sub-contractors in a timely and efficient manner.
Quality: Be able to understand and follow drawings and specifications for the works. Ensure that excellent quality and good craftsmanship is maintained.
Health & Safety: Have a good knowledge of current H&S law and practices. Demonstrate ability to work to the site Health and Safety Plan and manage all onsite H&S aspects.

The Successful Candidate will be required to attend Various sites within the home counties to carry out the multitude of different tasks. These will include servicing, repairs, plumbing installations, boiler and cylinder installations, general maintenance, and commissioning of all appliances.
The company will also provide the successful candidate with a Company vehicle, fuel card, company electronic communications device along with any necessary training.
Ideal skills and qualifications also include:
- The Ideal candidate will have experience with all current British plumbing and heating systems along with good product knowledge of system installations including un-vented cylinders, gas, oil, and LPG installations and ASHP.
- Must be Gas Safe registered and have boilers, cookers, fires, pipework, and unvented cylinders certification.
- ASHP service & maintenance, OFTEC Oil registration also preferred.
- It would also be an advantage to have LPG and underfloor heating experience.

Performance Objectives
- This is an established facility, so at the outset the Maintenance Engineer will be engaged in the upkeep and documentation of maintenance procedures and policies for the facility.
- Carrying out day to day preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Ensuring that all machinery and packing equipment and other systems are kept operational and properly maintained.
- Responding to breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
- Troubleshooting faults and finding long term solutions.
- Ensuring that the all activities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and Company rules, procedures and standards at all times.
- Be proactive in reporting and resolving defects or wear issues with the equipment.
- Provide recommendations on repairs and upgrades.
- Assist the Terminal Manager with procurement of correct replacement items.
- Working effectively with subcontractors.
- Using ERP systems to maintain stock management and maintenance records.
- Undertake any other duties and tasks which are reasonably required by management which may including assisting in the warehouses or elsewhere on the Terminal site from time to time.
Person Specification
- Significant experience in maintenance working in a bulk facility where conveyors and elevators are used (minimum of 2 years).
- Experience of working with; conveyors, bucket elevators, silos, warehouses, packing equipment
- Experience of working alongside subcontractors in this environment.
- Must have both QA and H&S experience.
- Good spoken and written English skills and numeracy essential.
- Computer literacy and ability to use ERP systems, MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Flexible positive attitude to your own work as well as an assertive and outgoing nature to supervising the work of others.
- Please note, daily duties may require working at height.
