Product Owner

£60,000 - £70,000 p/a depending on experience

Hybrid working & Bell Meadow Business Park, Chester

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

The aim of this role is to drive and manage the development, launch and running of a recruitment companies bespoke IT systems and processes. You will work full-time on a hybrid basis with a mixture of office and home working.

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to create and deliver best-in-class business systems and operational processes.

Performance Objectives

  • Define the product vision and/or features for your target markets - including out of the box features, pre-built integrations, personas, conversation flows, etc.
  • Conduct regular meetings with end-users to understand and anticipate their needs and translate product requirements into User Stories and Epics.
  • Articulate the minimum viable product needs.
  • Manage the product backlog and prioritise them based on changing requirements.
  • Build and execute the roadmap (create wireframes, feature specs, Jira stories, etc.) for your product with the development team.
  • Oversee all stages of product creation including design and development.
  • Define, track and own the KPIs for your product.
  • Liaise with the product team and end-users to deliver updates.
  • Work daily with development teams to refine, groom, and accept stories and bugs for implementation.
  • Create acceptance criteria, UAT test cases, organise and facilitate UAT testing, track test results, and work with the development team to resolve issues.
  • Effectively communicate relevant information to all levels of the organisation.
  • Follow industry trends and competitor product development.
  • Research and plan the market available IT/AI solutions

Person Specification

  • Strong technical background and an understanding of how a solution would work and potential challenges/possibilities
  • A proven track record of strategizing the full life cycle of product production, from conception through to release is a must in this role
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology or business-related field
  • Experience of working on digital, customer-centric products
  • Knowledge of web application architecture
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts (preferably Agile/SCRUM)
  • 5 years of professional experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Proven track record in the successful end-to-end delivery of a product or platform
  • Experience of (or an interest in) the recruitment and/or staffing industry

Performance Objectives

  • Lead and schedule the mechanical, electrical maintenance with your team in accordance with established technical standards and production programmes, in order to ensure the highest productivity in terms of quality and quantity while safeguarding and boosting compliance with safety measures as well as those of environmental prevention.
  • Make the necessary modifications to the facilities to improve the efficiency of the facility in terms of productivity and safety.
  • Organise and supervise the work and operations of your team in preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance, including electrical, electronic and communications systems as well as mechanical aspects.
  • Analyse daily, the information provided by shift teams on plant performance and take action to improve.
  • Ensure the appropriate stock level of the material means necessary for the established preventive and corrective maintenance work
  • Monitor, analyse and promote actions to improve the efficiency of electrical, electronic and communications system and general mechanical installations, taking appropriate actions.
  • Generate an adequate working climate as well as attend and manage the problems and incidents raised by the people in your care, looking if necessary, to support other people / departments involved, acting as spokesperson for your team of collaborators
  • Track the budgets of spending and investment orders.
  • Observe the needs of the plant for possible investments and improvement of facilities

Person Specification

· Degree in Engineering discipline

· Knowledge in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering

· FMCG knowledge is essential

· Track record of improvement projects using Continuous Improvement techniques

· Proven record in people performance management with evidence of building, managing & motivating successful teams on a large scale, shift working operation

· Technical knowledge & understanding to be able to answer team member's questions & doubts. Understanding of site processes is desirable

· People management and coaching skills - ability to identify and develop team members, set expectations, provide follow ups & make day-to-day decisions

· Ability to analyse root causes & implement decisions. Continuous improvement tools (5s; TPM; SMED, etc.) & production management tools (JIT, 6 sigma, etc.) knowledge is desirable

· Deep understanding of maintenance management tools (TPM, TQM, SPC, etc.)

· Ability to develop & maintain good working relationship with colleagues at all levels

· Good level of communication skills across different levels within the organisation

· Competent computer skills - SAP & MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
