Performance Objectives

  • The Electrical Engineer will provide Electrical, Instrumentation and Control (EI&C) Engineering technical support within area of responsibility.
  • In particular the aim of this role is to lead the development and implementation of all EI&C Strategies, modifications, Continuous Improvements and Capital Projects.
  • To lead EI&C capital projects, modification and continuous improvement activities ensuring that these meet or exceed business requirements. This includes direct leadership of projects, contributing EI&C elements to multi-disciplinary projects led by others and also co-ordination of other EI&C projects through contract engineering resource.
  • Provide a high level of EI&C Technical Support to the site. This covers the full range of Electrical systems (i.e. from HV through LV sub-distribution), instrumentation and plant control and automation systems and in particular includes H&S elements.
  • Provide a valued and proactive contribution to the management and development of the wider engineering activities at the business.
  • Ensuring all project and other engineering activities within area of responsibility are completed in full compliance with all statutory regulations and site HS&E and housekeeping standards, policies and procedures.

Regulatory / Compliance

  • Ensure that all Electrical Engineering activities carried out by internal and external contractors/service providers used on site, within area of responsibility, are completed in a Safe and Environmentally acceptable manner. Specifically, as minimum regulatory/statutory requirements will be met or exceeded and full compliance with the site HS&E policy, standards and procedures striven for.
  • Ensuring all project and other engineering activities within area of responsibility are completed in full compliance with all statutory regulations and site HS&E and housekeeping standards, policies and procedures.
  • Understand and maintain an up-to-date awareness of the current and forthcoming HS&E legalisation and their impact on the EI&C improvement activities on site to include COMAH. Provide advice, in conjunction with the Chief Electrical Engineer, on electrical regulatory requirements to be fulfilled by the business

Management Responsibilities

  • Designated Electrical Engineers and Technicians
  • Provision of leadership, development, and coaching to your direct reports.
  • The performance management of your direct reports to include the structured use of the company's performance appraisal process..

Person Specification

  • Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering of 5yrs experience
  • HNC Electrical Engineering Qualified - Desirable
  • Knowledge of all engineering aspects of plant and equipment.
  • Knowledge of site standards and statutory requirements.
  • Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessment and Management of Change.
  • Demonstrates understanding of regulatory responsibilities, potential enforcement actions and maintains systems for compliance.
  • Actively demonstrates team membership skills to enhance the outcomes of the team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a consistently high level of performance
  • Ability to Investigate, understand and resolve issues quickly and efficientlyApply
