gap technical are proud to be representing this manufacturing business in their search for a Quality Control Inspector to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City
Performance Objectives
Inspection of Inbound Goods:

• Verify incoming components, materials, and paperwork against customer specifications, drawings, and purchase orders.
• Check for raw material certification, supplier Certificates of Conformance (CofC), and compliance with traceability regulations.
• In accordance with business protocols, reject, quarantine, and report non-conforming products.

Inspection of Dispatch and Final Release:

• Check completed goods for compliance with customer specifications, drawings, and routings.
• Before shipping, confirm that the packaging, labelling, and dispatch documentation are all in compliance.
• Before releasing, confirm that all records are correct and comprehensive by signing off on CofCs.

Inspection in Process:

• At crucial points in the manufacturing process, perform in-process inspections to verify specification compliance.
• To guarantee that quality standards are fulfilled, and problems are escalated as soon as possible, collaborate closely with production teams.
• As needed, create inspection reports and assist with Concessions and RMA's.

General Inspection Duties:

• Utilize measuring tools like CMMs, callipers, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, and thickness gauges.
• Keep inspection equipment in top shape, making sure everything is functional and properly calibrated.
• Handle non-conformance reports and get involved in root cause investigations.
• Adhere to quality procedures (AS9100) and meet both company and customer quality standards.
• Maintain excellent organization of records, specifications, work areas, and digital data.

Person Specification

• A-C GCSE Level or equivalent in English and Maths
• Recognised quality qualification
• Experienced in inspection protocols
• Experienced in aerospace final inspection protocols (Goods In, Dispatch, or In-Process).
• Competent with inspection equipment and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Must be computer literate

Desirable

• Audit trained
• 3 years' Experience in an Inspection and Aerospace Industry
• IT proficiency (ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office,).
