gap construction are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well established main contractor with a strong pipeline of residential and mixed use projects across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. Performance Objectives

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Commercial Team across projects valued up to £15m, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle. The role will be split between site and office and will include:

• Assisting with cost control, reporting, and day to day commercial administration
• Supporting interim valuations, final accounts, and variation assessments
• Assisting with subcontractor and materials procurement
• Supporting subcontractor account management including valuations and variations
• Maintaining cost trackers, procurement schedules, and commercial registers
• Attending site visits and project meetings
• Assisting with monthly CVRs, forecasts, and cashflow reporting
• Supporting compliance with commercial, quality, and health and safety procedures

Person Specification

• Degree or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• 1 to 2 years experience in a construction commercial role or placement preferred
• Basic understanding of JCT and or NEC contracts
• Good Excel, Word, and general IT skills
• Strong numerical, organisational, and communication skills
• Proactive and keen to develop within a commercial role
• CSCS card or willingness to obtain
• Full UK driving licence beneficial
